Who am I?
Now, isn’t that the irritating question haunting us all. The inevitable response is idk. Oops. Sorry. I don’t know. Writers are suppose to write everything out, aren’t they? So text speak is horribly unforgivable, right? Mmm, maybe not. Really, if Cormac McCarthy can write entire books with barely a scratch of punctuation and nary an apostrophe, perhaps others could be allowed a bit of text speak. Perhaps.
Ahh, but I’m no Cormac McCarthy. Too true. So perhaps, I’m not a writer. Perhaps I am. Who’s to say?
Perhaps the riddle of who I am, who we all are, is just an evil koan. Perhaps there is no other answer than another question. Rather annoying, isn’t it?
I’ll try to answer that question, anyway. Here’s goes:
I’m a bit of a tech guy. I have over 20 years of experience in computing. No, I won’t come over to your small business and wire your network.
I’m a gamer, a pretty serious gamer. I played D&D when it was still in pamphlet form and Wolfenstein when it fit on a 3.5 floppy. I still play regularly and often, but these days I spend more time writing.
I’m certainly a bit of a writer (Certainly not Cormac McCarthy, though.). I’ve written academically. I’ve written professionally for print and online publications. I’ve even written a novel. So, yes, I’m a writer.
I run. I think my wife is cool. I have a sweet life, and I love my dog.
Of course, that’s not all there is about me, but it gives you a place to start. Here’s what you probably want to know, though:
- Yes, I can write.
- I charge professional rates. For that, you get a quality product delivered on time.
